Mrs. Rutherford from Washington DC is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the gift of a computer charging chart that will allow the computers to be changed for science, math, and reading instruction and provide a secure place to house our computers.

My school is a Title I school that sits in the heart of Washington, DC. I have a group of 67 students who are fun loving, eager-to-learn new things, excited about school and love to read. My classroom would be considered a melting pot of cultural heritage and social needs. Many of my students have been in the United States less than 4 years. They inspire me every day.
To meet their needs we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
I am requesting a charging cart to house our classroom computers. The cart is needed to provide a storage space that will allow all classroom charging locations for my classroom to complete a STEM project. We are requesting a mobile laptop cart that charges up to 20 laptops. At the end of the day, we have nowhere to safely store and charge the computers we were lucky enough to have funded by DonorsChoose. The cart would store and charge the computers and only use one plug to do so. My computer monitor, Ben, asks me daily if there is any hope we'll get a cart so he and his fellow monitors can quickly close the machines and place them to charge neatly overnight. Right now we have to close down earlier losing valuable online time and tuck the machines in various places where we can secure them. They can never charge overnight. It would be wonderful to have a cart that could be wheeled to a needed area where students could then take them and work on projects.
A mobile laptop cart charging 20 laptops would be a tremendous time saver, and we'd leave the class at the end of the day knowing that our computers were secured, neatly stored and stacked, charging for immediate use the next day.
My class will be more than happy to work an extra 20 minutes on their "global warming" science project and other subjects such as reading, and math. A cart is essential as we acquire technology to enhance classroom learning. We hope supporters will agree.
