Second Year SDC Teacher's Hand-Me-Down Classroom Needs an Update!
My students need flexible seating. Most of my students are hyperactive and cannot sit at a standard student desk. These items would allow me to update my classroom so my students have choices for seating.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Middle School Special Education. My students have moderate to severe needs. I work with students who have Autism, Downs Syndrome, and Intellectual Disabilities. All of kiddos are great and very eager to learn each day.
My students focus on daily living skills and community-based instruction.
We take public transportation and go into the community to shop for groceries. My classroom has a full kitchen so our lessons include cooking as well.
This is my second year teaching and I love it! I want my kids to be included in as many fun activities as possible.
My Project
Everything in my room was handed down to me by teachers who taught my class before me. On top of that, my class was moved to a new campus in my district. Not only did I loose a lot of my classroom teaching materials, most of what I still have is outdated. While I truly appreciate everything I have, it is time for a facelift!
Flexible seating options such as the stool, the Wobble Cushion, and the balance ball give my students the opportunity to choose where they will sit to work independently.
My students are also learning to use their laptops. The document clips would make using a visual model while typing so much easier for my students. Overall, these items would allow me to update my room to fit my student's needs.
