My students need several books for classroom read-alouds, pencils, paper, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, flexible and colorful seating, colorful containers for organization, a class set of white boards, pocket charts, and hands-on materials.
I will have 25 students this year. My students come from rough backgrounds and low-income families. This makes it difficult for them to have what they need to succeed in school. I believe that all children can learn given the right materials and environment. I want my students to be excited to come to school because of the environment and learning experiences I provide for them. I want to instill a love of learning in them and in order to do this, I need to provide them with an environment that promotes learning.
My Project
I want to create an environment that promotes learning and creativity. My students come from low-income families. For a lot of them, school is the safest and most positive place for them. I want them to wake up excited to come to school without worrying about what they do not have. In order to promote this type of environment my classroom needs to be organized, colorful, and engaging. The materials that I am requesting will help my students to stay focused and engaged. This includes basic classroom materials, such as books for classroom read-alouds, pencils, paper, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, flexible seating, colorful containers for organization, a class set of white boards, pocket charts, and hands-on materials to engage my students in learning.
