We are located in an extremely overcrowded elementary school in New York. We work very hard and appreciate learning through laughter, fun, and play. It is a long school day when all we do is sit in our seats and work.
You often hear an explosion of laughter coming from my classroom.
A second grade is an awesome place for any child to be. I am a second-grade teacher for a very eager and excitable group of children. I am truly a lucky teacher.
My Project
The best educational experiences are the ones where a child is truly immersed into the learning. I want to provide my students this opportunity during our unit study about Native American Indians. We would love to have a headdress to wear while sitting around a teepee. We will make a "fire" and retell stories that are based on the history of Native American Indians. Other activities are also being planned.
Imagine children listening to a Grandmother's Dream Catcher and then being able to create their own dream catchers!
These dreamcatchers will probably be kept save for years by my children.
We also plan to make jewelry for our unit. The beads will add a little something extra to our necklaces.
