Ms. Dumas from Weldon NC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 4 ball chairs for creative seating and 3 LeapPad tablets for 21st century learning materials that differentiate to their needs.

My students are captivated by technology. The first time I was able to bring them to the computer lab, the smiles on their faces were indescribable. They are dying to learn as much as they can, but our limited resources and access to technology are trying to stop us from making history.
I work in a Title 1, low income school in rural Eastern North Carolina.
I would not work anywhere else! I have the most amazing group of second grade students. I have one who uses endless pictures and words to describe her thinking, that makes her thoughts come alive. Whether it is on her math test, her reading journal or on her desk while I am teaching, she illustrates all of her thinking. I also have a student with autism that takes the time to articulate his thoughts in a way that would captivate anyone from a kindergarten student to a college professor; trust me, I have seen him in action. My student who is a struggling reader, never quits or misses a chance to celebrate even the smallest victory. My students need materials that differentiate instruction and to enable students to cultivate 21st century skills.
The LeapPads will be for listening centers, phonics games, math games, reading comprehension centers and for online differentiated tools, such as mobymax and Front Row. I am getting my students far, but with the right tools such as technology, they can get further. I want my students to have access to everything they need. The ball chairs offer differentiated seating for my students who are so eager to learn they just cannot sit still, and this will keep them seated safely with room to wiggle.
With these materials, my children will be one step closer to having an education that is equal to those in higher income classes.
They have every bit of ability and promise, and they just need equal access.
