Help me give my students write and wipe pockets, wobble cushions and other materials that improve their ability to read and grow into life-long learners.
My students are an enthusiastic, bright group of 2nd graders that come to school ready to learn everyday. They are in the middle of a rigorous school year that is filled with adventure, creativity, and lots and lots of learning. Second grade is a huge growth year (especially in terms of reading development) and in order to be the best they can be, they need some additional materials.
I look forward to the chance to assist their progress and growth even further!

My Project
These new materials will help to make our classroom a better place! By adding materials to our classroom, I can enhance the learning environment and increase student success. If I have books to fill my library, I will have students who want to read. With options, students can make choices about what they want to read. This improves students ability to choose a great book for them because they can choose based on interest and skill. We spend a significant amount of time building our reading "stamina" in 2nd grade. Having a fun spot to read to self or read to a partner makes this part of our day more successful. Adding flexible seating to our reading block is a great way to enhance this learning time.
Special seating arrangements, reading pointers to help decode, and reading tools, make students feel like reading can be a fun activity.
When students are excited about reading, they become better readers. At this age, they can still be changed into passionate, life-long readers.
