Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Where did that butterfly come from? What makes a hurricane? How does a plant grow? Those are the questions students want to know!
I teach in a big city in Texas.
I teach ESL Math and Science. I teach several students who are learning English and building on their vocabulary. My students love learning about science! They are eager to learn and are very hard workers. They have a passion for wanting to learn science.
My Project
I am requesting materials like books and and learning centers that will help my students learn science in an interactive way. Learning centers allow students to move from station to station to explore, manipulate, create, and work where their interests take them, or where their teacher directs them in order to refine, reinforce, and explore topics and concepts. Also, my ESL students need lots of help building their science vocabulary. We will have a great time learning about how seeds grow and the life cycle of a butterfly. My students love reading science books.
Second Grade Science Superstars is so important because my students need to master many science objectives.
I want them to love science and do well on district tests. This project will help my students gain knowledge of science.
