Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an impoverished neighborhood in the South Bronx. They come to school each day full of questions and prepared to learn despite the challenges they face.
I use many different types of learning strategies in my classroom, such as group work, research projects, and hands-on STEM activities.
Not only do the learning strategies I use allow my students have a little bit of fun in class, it also helps to ensure that I use different types of learning modalities which will, in turn, ensure that each student's learning style is addressed.
Watching my students beam with excitement as they are learning makes me love my job.
My Project
Each year, I am amazed at how much information my little second graders want to absorb. To help satisfy their thirst for knowledge, I like to give them research projects. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have access to computers at home, and they don't always get computer as a special.
Your donation will allow my students to be able to do research for their projects if they do not have a computer at home.
The Chromebooks will also prevent students from being embarrassed about not completing their work because they don't have a computer at home. This embarrassment can have a negative impact on their self-esteem. Students will be able to gain more knowledge, and have a stress free learning experience.
