As a 2nd Grade Teacher, I am excited to be a part of bringing Project Based Learning (PBL) to my school. Project Based Learning is guiding students to identify real-world problems and developing solutions. Two teachers (myself and a co-teacher) will have 35 active and enthusiastic students in one classroom.
We teach at a Title I school which means we have a high population of students living in poverty.
We have students with special needs, students with English as their second language, high performing students and low performing students. Some of our students are on the autism spectrum or come from high-stress home environments. It is important that they feel that they have a safe, calm, and relaxing environment.
My Project
We have a class full of wonderful readers! Unfortunately, we don't have enough books in our classroom library to feed their hunger for reading. We would like to purchase more books to fill in our library.
It is important for students to have books that students are interested in.
We free read our favorite books for an hour every Wednesday! The students are so excited to read their favorite books.
We want to encourage that excitement with some new books that the students have asked for. Please help us fill up our classroom library with new exciting books!
