Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school was established in 1928 and is a Title I school. I have been teaching there since 1999. Many of these students come from diverse cultural backgrounds and there are 16 different languages spoken here. My students come to school full of energy and are ready to wrestle the day.
Besides coming from diverse backgrounds, my students all differ in their academic abilities.
I believe that DonorsChoose will enhance my ability to reach all of my students using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the classroom.
My Project
This project will spark and ignite creativity and teamwork in my classroom. The WeDo 2.0 Core Sets will give my students an early advantage to develop their critical 21st century skills of collaboration and teamwork, creativity and imagination, critical thinking, and problem solving skills while learning mathematical and science concepts.
My students will learn to collaborate in a small group to develop necessary skills to communicate, as well as to learn to share innovative ideas with one another while constructing mathematical grids and simple machines.
I hope that you will consider this project to help these early learners develop their math and science skills through the use of building with LEGO.
