I am a second grade teacher in Winston – Salem, North Carolina. The name of my school is Kimberley Park Elementary School. We are a Priority/Equity School with 97% of our students being on free or reduced lunch. At our school, the PTA is not overflowing with parents. We are struggling for funds in many areas. Our parent participation is very low for programs and special events. There is one very important book that we really need in our classroom for the students. That book is the \"dictionary\". We have learned that a person who puts together a dictionary is a lexicographer. The only problem is we don't have many dictionaries to go around for each student. My students and I would truly appreciate a new class set of paperback dictionaries so we don't have to share the small number of old, outdated ones. The students will use these dictionaries on a daily basis for homework, writing assignments, and parts of speech.
