Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My job as a teacher is very demanding and yet very rewarding. It can be draining trying to meet the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of my students. But, when I see their growth, their smiles, and bright eyes light up when light bulbs go on, my heart fills with joy.

My students are deserving of a quality education.

While many of them face the typical experiences of the low socioeconomic struggle, they come to school ready to listen, learn, collaborate, and problem solve. Their endurance is an inspiration to others including myself. And it is for this reason I strive to prepare them as best I can by learning and growing right alongside them.

My Project

The products that I have selected will assist my second grade students to succeed during remote learning. The headphones have been selected to remedy the issue of background noise during lessons. The blue light glasses is to protect my young students' eyes who are now required to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time during the day.

These products will assist students in learning and keep them healthy!

I believe that the constant interruptions could significantly reduced if students were to wear headphone, thus directly improving the quality of learning. Furthermore, by providing my students with blue light glasses they could potentially reduce damage to their retina from prolonged exposure from the blue light that is emitted from computer screens.

It is my belief that in order to adapt to remote learning one of the steps is to provide students with the necessary tool for their new learning environments. These tools is a great start which will have a positive impact on my students.
