Ours is an amazing school filled with various students from diverse backgrounds. Each of our kiddos is special in their own way. Some come from very low-income homes where even school supplies are hard to come by.
The Learning Center is a safe place for students to come and talk about what is happening in their life and to know that we care about each and every one of their concerns.
Students come to work through the stresses that they have at home so they can better function in a classroom setting. They also come to the Learning Center to find a safe place to work amidst the turmoil that they face daily. Sometimes, they even come to get food because they are so hungry they can't focus on learning.
My desire is to help provide an awesome learning environment that will stimulate creativity and help them to connect with the process of learning. I strive daily to bring them into their learning-ready brain so they can grow and develop and be amazing citizens in our community.
My Project
My students love to find a nook and tuck away when it comes to reading time. These cushions and chairs will give more students opportunities to enjoy an exceptional reading adventure. The students love to sit in a nice office style chair as well as floor cushions when they read.
Reading is a great adventure, we want the kids to be comfortable when they embark!
The yoga pillow seat will be a great way for the students to ballance and refocus as they prepare to set out on their adventure.
The monitor stands will help get their computers up to eye level to prevent strain on their eyes as they work on the computers as well.
They use the computers to take tests on the books they read and for their book reports.
