Help me give my students options for flexible seating. I want to provide my students with opportunities to maximize their learning. Studies have shown that students learn best when they have some control over their learning environment.
I teach at a Title I school that is located in the San Fernando Valley, which has a population of about 1,000 diverse students. Culturally, ethnically, and socioeconomically my students do not fit a specific mold and vary greatly. However, a universal quality that my students possess is their motivation, enthusiasm, and love for learning.
I want to provide my students with flexible seating to allow my students to wobble, bounce, stand, lean or stand as needed.
Flexible seating will benefit my students by providing them with choice, collaboration, and flexibility.
My Project
Flexible seating gives students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking.
Flexible seating such stools, lap desk and tractor seat fosters collaboration and empowers kids to think about how they work best.
Studies have shown that classrooms that provide flexible seating have student success! Grades have improved, students seem happier and more engaged, and students are participating more and having more invigorating conversations.
Please consider helping me provide my students with flexible seating options, so that they can collaborate more easily with one another, focus on their work, and have genuine excitement to learn.
