My Students

My classroom is full of excited kindergartners, so eager to learn and always trying their best. My students come from varied backgrounds, for some this is their very first school experience.

I teach at a high poverty school in Wisconsin where our free and reduced rate is over 95 percent.

It's great to start our day with breakfast because it is a great opportunity to talk with each of my students before the structure of our day begins.

My community also runs an evening and Saturday morning project at our school where families can come to school for a meal and evening programs.

My Project

I have begun using flexible seating in my classroom and my students love choosing a special seat or space to do their best work. However with 24 students I am in need of additional seating. With additional seats my students will all be able to choose a seat everyday!

In the short time that they have been choosing their special seat I have seen how important it is for their bodies to be in movement instead of just sitting on a school chair.

By having flexible seating with Ball Chairs for Children and Kids Lap Desk Trays, I have found my students concentration and stamina is increasing in all activities throughout the day.
