My students need space saving seating options while reading and labels that can be cut and used to cover up mistakes to maximize writing time without erasing.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are things adults worry about, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day.
In spite of the challenges they face, my students constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their ability to learn.
There are some students I service with Reading Interverntion who have and there are others who do not. It is my job as a teacher to make sure that the all the students that comin into my Title 1 Reading Intervention classroom have everything they need to be successful.
My Project
My students are only with me for 30 minutes each day, so to maximize time and help students stay on task, they need labels to be placed over mistakes instead of erasing. This will help maximize time while still allowing for correcting.
In my small Reading Intervention classroom students must sit on crates that can be uncomfortable and do not give students the ability to wiggle while reading.
Because of space limitations in my classroom these wobble stools will provide a space saving option for my students, while allowing them to move some while reading.
When funded this project will help students in grades 1-5 who come to my Reading Intervention classroom. Your generous donation will help these students become stronger readers.
