My amazing students come from Huntington Indiana. Every student that I work with has an overwhelming desire to improve themselves. The students in my classroom are hardworking, full of energy, and strive to complete the task at hand anyway possible. We are a big family in the classroom and each student is thoughtful and caring to others and adults. I couldn’t ask for a better group for kids to teacher and mentor during their time at our school.
Every student that enters my classroom doors have a variety of needs that need to be met for learning to occur.
My students are active and need to be moving in some way. If you were to observe a guided reading session in my classroom, you will see lots of foot tapping, bouncing, and even students that would rather stand than sit in a normal seat. I know that learning looks different for each child and I want to provide every child with the opportunity to learn in their own individual way if at all possible.
My Project
Focus is a struggle for many learners big and small. Introducing these requested Flex-Space Wobble Chairs and K'Motion Stools into our classroom will directly benefit those learners who have to stay in motion. Sitting in a classroom for a full school day can be grueling for students both mentally and physically. Wobble Chairs will be used by our students to improve focus.
Every student handles the lack of physical stimulation in the classroom differently.
While teachers do their best to add in brain breaks throughout the day, it is often not enough physical activity to keep students in their seats and focused for extended periods of time. Introducing new ways for students to release pent up energy in the classroom while maintaining a calm and productive learning environment is the goal for our school resource staff.
Specifically, the seats we purchase will provide alternate seating in the classroom to meet the needs of any student that learn best while in motion. The Wobble Chairs and K'Motion Stools will be used in the resource room and in the students general education setting.
