Help me give my students different seating options for our classroom. These mats, stools and floor seats will help increase their comfort and focus in the classroom!
I teach in a military town and about 70% of the students in my school are from families serving the country. My school is on an island off the coast of Washington in a town with a population around 23,000. In my particular class, 90% of the students are military kids.
Many of the students in my classroom have only been there 1-2 years and many of them know they will be moving this year or next.
The fact that my students move around so much definitely affects the friendships and confidence they have in the classroom.
My Project
These items will give my students many different options to sit while doing their work. These items give them choices to sit on the ground, lay down on a mat or sit at a low table all while still being comfortable.
I want my students to be comfortable no matter where they chose to work.
I want to give them as many different places to work and be successful students as I can.
I chose wobble chairs, rubber mat, and floor chairs to give my students many different types of seating. Many of my students don't work well sitting in a traditional desk and these seating options will help them be comfortable and successful!
