Seating for Success

Help me give my students the flexibility they need to be successful. My second grade students are in need of different seating options than the traditional desk and chairs.

My Students

My students have been through Hurricane Michael while they were in Pre-Kindergarten. Then during Kindergarten we all suffered from the Covid shut down. My students have only had one full year in the classroom due to these disasters. Due to this, most of my students are reading two grades below level and suffering in mathematics as well. My wonderful school is also a title one school, with students who need a lot of extra love and help.

My Project

My students have come to me with a variety of needs. One of the most observed need I have seen is that of the need to move. After going through a category 5 Hurricane (Hurricane Michael) during their pre-k year, then the covid shut down in their Kindergarten year, my students can not sit in the traditional classroom setting of desks and chairs.

Any chance they get, they are on the floor trying to learn.

With the option of flexible seating, my students will be able to learn and succeed where they are more comfortable.
