Mrs. Joslyn from Worcester MA is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students small group seating that will help them to focus and learn more successfully.

My class is an enthusiastic community of learners who enjoy hands-on activities, movement and exploring new tasks and ideas. My school is in an urban setting with the majority of students receiving free and reduced lunch. The school is diverse and works hard to meet the needs of all its students. I work hard to allow students to learn in the way that is most appropriate for them and that will allow them to be successful.
Kindergarten encompasses such incredibly mixed interests and abilities and my students come from vastly different backgrounds yet each student brings something unique to our classroom.
Some come to me knowing how to read and write, while others are still working on recognizing their own name. The one thing they have in common is that they are young and excited to learn.
My kindergarteners are active, enthusiastic learners. It is challenging for them the sit still and focus on lessons. These wobble stools will enable them to sit and attend to our small group lessons while simultaneously releasing some of the endless energy they have. We talk about “safe bodies” frequently but it’s so difficult for my students to stay seated in our regular school chairs. It's just too tempting to put our little feet through the backs of the chairs or (even more dangerously) lean back. These stools will provide a higher degree of safety as well as help them focus. The seats enable them to sit while still being able to move around a bit as they are actively learning.
