Our population consists of high school aged students with autism. They love the opportunity to do various activities, having a routine, in addition to knowing the expectations. One problem we currently face is a limited budget along with hand me down items. Your donation can help us to create an inviting space for our students to come to daily. This is a new class, and we currently have the bare minimum when it comes to a properly outfitted classroom. We are in need of items that can make our job easier and an atmosphere we all love to come to each day.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students have their desk as a choice to work at. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in students when they are given a choice in their seating.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options which will in turn let them make more effective learning choices.
The comfy floor seats will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I have seen how choice can positively affect students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
