My students are the youngest and brightest at our school, Pre-K /PPCD! They are second language learners, low income, at risk, and have special needs but most importantly they are ready to learn and love coming to school. They are caring, generous and appreciative. They come from single parent homes and have fewer enrichments. They face challenges at home that I can not control but I can control the positive, caring, safe environment and learning experiences I provide in our classroom.
My Project
I am asking for a low to the ground table and cushions to accommodate all of my students learning styles and variety of disabilities.
Flexible seating will help my students feel more comfortable and independent as they play, learn and explore.
A low table will especially help our students in wheelchairs be independent when transitioning from their wheelchair to a gathering area. When students feel comfortable they are more focused and productive. Having flexible seating in our classroom will also help with behaviors.
By helping us add these items to our classroom you will help improve student independence, engagement and learning.
