I teach in a Title I school in the city of Buffalo where there are over 40 languages spoken. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students are part of the backpack program, taking food home on weekends.
In my classroom I have 12 boys and 8 girls of varying needs.
Many students come into the school not knowing English, and are pushed very quickly to adapt and learn to speak and read quickly.
My Project
I am asking for various seating options for my students! My students learn in a variety of different ways, and they need different seating options to help them learn!
Flexibility in seating allows students to be comfortable, which in turn yields calm, focused, and productive students!
I asked for a wobble chair for my students to use while they are working at their tables. It offers a different type of chair for students that need more movement.
I have also asked for 2 flex-space comfy floor seats so students can sit on the floor and work. These floor chairs can be used in different ways to meet the needs of students. Finally, I asked for 4 flex-space wobble cushions for students to use on the floor in different learning areas in my classroom!
