My students need flexible seating for areas to collaborate and work as teams. This project includes Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats and Flex-Space Balance Ball Seats for students to work in small groups.
Remember as a child, that feeling of awe when YOU accomplished something you felt would be impossible? In a school community where 84% of students are from low income families and 36% have limited English Language proficiency, my students are faced with many challenges and obstacles both in and out of the classroom.
As a teacher my role is to be a facilitator to my students driving them to take ownership of their education by making challenging and responsible choices while learning the curriculum and standards that are required, so instructional goals are met.
My students are eager to learn, and do not want to be confined to desks and chairs. They are inquisitive learners who excel when given the freedom to choose their learning space while comfortably collaborating within teams. I strive to provide my students with the tools needed to succeed in the ever changing world. My classroom is student-centered allowing their interests and learning styles to guiding them through inquiry based activities.
My Project
My students are always excited to work together to accomplish a goal, but are often challenged by our classroom seating, rectangular desks and chairs. They try their best to conform to while working, but often stand, kneel on chairs and have papers get stuck between desks that they are working between.
The Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats and Flex-Space Balance Ball Seats will give my students comfortable seating choices to create collaboration areas in an environment that is conducive to a student-centered learning!
I believe that students will do their best work when they are comfortable, physically and emotionally. These flexible seating options will give students a great place for collaborative teamwork in the classroom.
