Help me give my students more options for seating! Students love the Kore Wobble Chair, and I have noticed an increased focus and decrease in noise with students who use them.
There is never have a dull day with my 4th graders! I have an active, friendly bunch who are always ready to have fun. We have such a mix of personalities and interests that we are always learning from each other--including other languages! These kiddos are so talented in their many activities: soccer, football, dance, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming, art, and choir.
They really demonstrate our school motto: Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds.
We work on both those aspects in class through our learning, brain breaks, and snacks. As fourth graders, they are learning to be independent and make the choices they need to for their learning and well-being. It is amazing to guide them through that process!
My Project
All of these seating options give students choices. The wobble cushions and chair provide a bit of movement while working without distracting others. Students can move around my classroom when working, and the portable desks will allow them to sit on the floor while still having a space to create.
I am helping students grow their independence in giving them options.
They are learning what their bodies need, and they are making the choices to help them be successful. For many students, the choice of where to work and the tools to help their bodies calm down make a significant difference in their focus and learning.
