Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your classroom? Was it equipped with everything you needed as a student, to make your learning experience amazing? I have an wonderful group of students who are so excited about learning - especially reading and writing! My group of 17 advanced level students are inquisitive, creative and love to learn!
As a new teacher to the district, I want to create a great environment for my students to learn and be comfortable in.
Working on things like a carpeted area and flexible seating, is our current project. Creating this area for them would help them take ownership of their classroom, in a space they can be proud of.
My Project
The carpet will be a necessary and great addition to our classroom. We like to gather as a whole group for discussions, and need a carpeted area to do so! Flexible seating options with cushions will give students an option of working independently in another area in the classroom. Currently my students are only working at their desks, or the bare floor. Making sure students are comfortable in their learning environment is an important component in their motivation.
The products I have selected will help my students, by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices in the classroom.
The carpet will be extremely beneficial for all students, as we gather as a whole group daily in that area. The cushions will give students an option for independent work as well. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed!
