Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to Third Grade! My students are bright English language learners with diverse strengths and challenges. They are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and hard-working. Many do not know all of their letters or sounds and lack reading fluency and comprehension. These students also face many obstacles outside of the classroom.
I believe that each child is able to learn, grow, and succeed.
Yoga, creative movement, multi-sensory techniques and strategies are incorporated into lessons to ensure the success of all learners. Students work hard to gain new skills, strategies, and a positive attitude about reading!
My Project
My English Language Learners need a flexible seating option to meet their unique academic and social and emotional needs. Each of my students deserves to sit where he or she feels they can be most successful.
My students will be able to utilize the small table and four soft seats that come in the flex-space collaborative floor workspace in independent, partner, small group and whole group settings.
My students will be able to work together at this space across the disciplines. Having the opportunity to sit on the floor will build essential self-regulation skills and help students to take ownership over their learning styles. They will be able to carry this information with them into the future as life long learners.
