Our fourth graders are hard-working and they LOVE to learn! They come to school every day excited to share their ideas with classmates and discover something new. They inspire me to prepare great lessons and materials to help them to build their understanding. We are excited to engage in inquiry and problem-based learning everyday.
Our children are part of a supportive and compassionate community; we help each other to strive for our best.

My Project
Last school year, my class and I embraced flexible seating. We found it help us to focus and do our best learning! We used milk crates and cushions to make stools, but by June, all of the stools had cracked. We would like to replace them with a sturdier option, so we can use them year after year.
I also have a new classroom this year, and there are mounted chalkboards.
To reduce the amount of dust in our room and to help students read the board better (studies show that the contrast of dark letters on light backgrounds are easier to read), I would like to install dry-erase boards. Because seating options will be located around the room, the peel and stick dry erase will allow us to create learning spaces wherever we need them.
