This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember how exciting it was to be in Kindergarten? My students are hungry to become great readers and excited to have independent reading books. To keep our reading books organized we need seat sacks!
My students are curious learners and despite the struggles of living in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Illinois, they come to school every day hungry for knowledge!
Many of my students have been through hard times and back and still strive to become excellent students!
My Project
We sit at team tables and do not have desks for storing materials. The seat sacks will be used to store their leveled independent reading books, journals, and other individual materials. By having the books organized behind them, they can take out a book and read when they are finished with their work, and maximize instructional time!
Donations from this project will add a great amount of instructional time in my classroom.
Students won't have to walk to the other end of the room just to get their books for independent reading time, and materials such as scissors and glue will be at their immediate disposal instead of in a shared container that has to be distributed. We thank you in advance for your generosity!
