Help first graders stay organized! These Seat Sacks stay right on the back of their chairs so all of their materials are right where they need them!
These Seat Sacks would benefit first graders in Colorado.
These students are first grade students that have very diverse backgrounds. We have students who have lost a parent in their short life. We have students who have special needs. We have students who have been diagnosed within in the autism spectrum. All of our students live in a neighborhood that has regenerated itself and is currently regenerating itself to be a safe place to live and grow. The school is also a school that has been revamped in the past few years to make it the best learning environment for kids and to close those achievement gaps.
My Project
These Seat Sacks have a twofold purpose. First is to make sure students have all of their supplies right at their fingertips. These Seat Sacks stay right on the back of their chairs. This will decrease time finding exactly what they needs and increase learning time.
The second purpose is to teach students how to be organized. These students are six and seven years old. We are teaching basic life skills in these classrooms. These Seat Sacks give them the responsibility to keep their learning supplies, books, papers ready to be used.
This project is important because this will allow for more learning time in the classroom.
That is what we truly need to be successful as a nation that is trying to keep up with students throughout the world. This will also teach the very valuable skill of organization.
