Seat Sacks for First Grade

My Students

My students are sweet and adorable. They love to learn and explore. They are very creative thinkers and writers. My school has approximately 550 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. We are a Title I school. We are becoming more and more culturally diverse. Each year, we receive many new non-English speaking students. We are also faced with students who come from economically disadvantaged families. I love my students with all of my heart. They deserve to thrive in a fun and warm learning environment.

My Project

I am requesting seat sacks for my first grade students. These seat sacks will be placed on the back of each student's chair. They will be a vital part in building independence in the classroom. Students will be responsible for keeping everyday class materials (pencil boxes, workbooks,) in the seat sacks and having those materials available for use. Students will be able to move their chairs around the classroom and their seat sacks and supplies will move with them.

The seat sacks will promote independence!

The seat sacks will also store leveled books, individualized for each student, so they have books to read independently throughout the school day as time permits.

Seat sacks will help keep germs to a minimum because each student will have their own individual supplies at an arm's reach.
