Help me give my students seat sacks in order to alleviate the clutter from their table tops!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
As a beginning teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide a creative and safe environment for my students.
My students are eager, energetic learners with big emotions!
They like to move, read and love lots and LOTS of positive attention. Many of my students are not able to experience a "typical" home life due to their situations. From the minute they walk in, I focus on their potential and providing an environment that allows them to learn more than just what the curriculum tells me to teach. Many of my students are still learning how to handle their big emotions, so we spend a lot of time learning coping strategies. I may not be able to control their home lives, but I can certainly control their experience in our classroom. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic growth.
My classroom consists of wildy imaginative firsties! They are so full of energy every single day! Due to the fact that we have large tables in our classroom, we are in desperate need of organization for these children! While their supplies are within reach, on top of their tabletops, the ever-growing pile of materials is becoming a bit overcrowded!
My firsties need seat sacks in order to alleviate the clutter from their table tops!
These seat sacks will house the students' writing folders, math notebooks, reading materials and other essential school supplies that they need on a daily basis! Having these seat sacks will teach my six and seven year olds about organization and its importance!
