Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade classroom is a room full of eager and kind students. The students range in age from six to seven years old. My school is located in Nevada in a very high need neighborhood. Our school is an elementary STEAM academy where our students are encouraged to invent, explore and be creative. They are inquisitive and have a real joy of learning. My students are always eager to come to school, and take great pride in their work.

My Project

By having a seat sack on a student's chair, students will spend less time accessing their materials, and more time learning! We hang these super-handy storage sacks over the back of students’ chairs to put essential supplies right within reach. Another benefit is that they keep children’s desks clutter-free! They are sturdy nylon sacks that have two easy-access pockets—including a small pocket on top for small supplies like scissors and pencils, plus a big, reinforced pocket below for heavier books, notebooks and more. Since our students are constantly utilizing their seat sacks, it is important that they are new and sturdy.
