My students are all English language learners who work hard and try their best. They are very motivated to learn and love to be active and try new things. All of the students I teach live in poverty. Oftentimes my students will not have the same experiences or opportunities as their English-speaking peers. My students would love to have more opportunities to learn and grow.
My students are hard workers, yet face daily challenges of having limited resources readily available.
I want to do all I can to provide experiences and materials so that my students can explore the world around them.
When I first came into my classroom, there were no storage options for materials. The furniture that I could dig out from our school's storage area was very outdated, mismatched, and scratched or broken. Furniture is an expensive item and unfortunately there is no room in our school budget for this. I am slowly working on updating what is needed the most which includes finding alternative options for storing materials. The storage space we have is not sufficient and I want students to be able to have a safe, clean learning environment. This requires proper storage space for our materials.
Getting this new storage shelf will help us organize our classroom materials so that we can safely store all resources inside this cabinet.
