Help me give my students some materials to enrich the science center in our classroom. Their favorite subjects is science! They enjoy learning about real things, and the nonfiction readers will help with their curiosities.
I have a fabulous group of kindergarten students that are excited about learning. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My students come from all different family types and are exposed to different levels of opportunities in their daily lives.
Some students are very fortunate and some are not. We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. We have seven kindergarten classes in our school. Our school is in a rural district that has limited funding.
The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
My Project
The Science Center is the favorite center in our class. However, I do not have many colorful games to feed growing curiosities. I selected file folder games and nonfiction sight word readers to connect reading to science and offer colorful selections of games to teach science concepts in class. Students learn better when learning is meaningful.
I am hoping to improve the students' reading and science skills through the use of games and sight word readers.
I know the students will enjoy playing and learning at the Science Center in our class with these materials! Please help them to grow!
