My students need worthwhile experiences that will develop a love of learning. Field experiences in Science at Sea World are a great way of fostering learning because it is fun and in a hands on.
This project expired on April 6, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our second-grade students come from very diverse backgrounds and experiences in our Title I school. They come from many different backgrounds. Each one is eager to have new experiences and learn about the world beyond their boundaries. Many only spend time within their neighborhoods and don’t have opportunities beyond that point. We will be focusing on living organisms and would like to have them experience an interactive field trip. This would be an educational opportunity for our students to learn about ocean animals in a real-life setting. This is also an opportunity to do something that many would not be able to go because of financial reasons.
Have you ever asked a question of a child and that leads to more and more questions? Well taking our second graders to Sea World San Antonio would be a great way for kids to experience Life Science with real animals and experts. Kids are curious by nature and want to know more about the world around them. Seeing live animals and being able to ask the experts is a good way of fostering excitement about learning and especially in Science. Students will experience educational animal presentations during our visit to Sea World. Our second grade students will enjoy walking into presentations, seeing the different animals and asking questions.
