This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into school everyday knowing that this is their safe place and that they can do anything they set their mind to.

They have active imaginations and a desire to learn, but they all learn in different ways.

My students all bring their own strengths to the table and are driven to do their very best.

They want to be fully engaged in their lessons and want to be transported to new worlds and places. The more fully engrossed in the lesson, the more they want to create and discover new things.

My Project

Last year we read the first Percy Jackson book and they loved it! This year we are all moving up to 5th grade together and they want to continue to explore the world of Percy Jackson.

They loved getting to learn about the mythology behind the Percy Jackson stories.

I would like to continue that with the second book in the series, the Sea of Monsters.

I am very passionate about fostering a love of literacy in the classroom and these books are a great way to do it. They are engaging and exciting and open up a whole new world to my young readers.
