This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have an extremely talented group of students this year for my art classes! The downside is we don't have the funding we usually have. I would really love to do sculpture and ceramics with them this year and don't want them to miss out. We are a small Pittsburgh public school!
My Project
Being virtual for the past year and a half students haven't had the hands on experience in art class that they deserve. We were forced to use materials that were available in their homes. Now that we are back in the classroom it's time for my students to have some real hands on experience with clay and Super Sculpey. Providing my students with these materials will allow them the opportunity to really get their hands dirty while letting their creativity fly, sculpting amazing projects and seeing their ideas come to life with materials they have never had the opportunity to use.
