Mrs. Mullen from New Haven CT is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need hand sanitizer, Lysol spray and wipes to keep our technology classroom a germ free environment where hands-on learning can take place.

There are roughly 400 students in attendance in our magnet school in the inner city school district of New Haven, CT. Our students come to school ready and eager to learn. Our magnet theme allows students to explore STEM professions through stimulating and challenging programs. The technology lab is a safe place which fosters creativity, communication, and collaboration.
Our students love technology and often times, the technology lab is a place where those students who may struggle academically, excel and participate in hands-on activities.
In addition, it is also a place where gifted students can be challenged to continue to think outside of the box to develop critical thinking skills that will help them to prepare for 21st century life and careers.
The technology lab is a great place where students in grades K-8 can explore 21st century skills through hands-on exploration and learning. I am requesting cleaning supplies including hand sanitizer, Lysol spray and wipes to help me maintain a sanitary environment for this hands-on learning to occur . There are twenty - five desktop computers and twenty-four iPads available for use in the technology lab. This is extremely beneficial when it comes to hands on learning because each student has access to a device . This not only allows for differentiation but also helps students to remain engaged and motivated as we explore exciting new technologies such as 3D Printing . There are 250 students rotating through the computer lab in a given week.
While hands-on exploration is essential to student engagement and individual learning needs, it becomes extremely difficult to maintain a sanitary learning environment especially during the dreaded flu season!
Keeping my students healthy and in school is one of my main priorities. My students know just how important it is to keep our classroom sanitary throughout the school year . They often jump to help when it comes to sanitizing equipment or wiping down their work space. By donating to our project , you will help my students and I to keep our classroom clean and ourselves healthy so that learning can continue all year! Having access to the cleaning supplies being requested will make it easier to keep the computer lab a safe , germ-free space where students can feel comfortable exploring with their hands!
