We are in the midst of creating a new generation of leaders who will have the opportunity to change our world in big ways. We, as teachers, have the unique chance to build our students' abilities to think, create, and succeed in so many different ways. My students are Marvelous Makers who need access to reliable technology and tools that can help them research and connect with real-world STEM careers and professionals.
My students come from a low-income area and have a variety of educational and personal needs.
It is my goal to help my students break down the barriers in their lives and push their own boundaries to help them grow and become successful adults. My students are future engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and world-changers. Supporting their education now, supports their future.
My Project
The Botley robot is an awesome tool that engages students with coding and coding skills but without the heavy use of screens and tablets. Students can learn the basics of the coding language while still engaging in higher order thinking. These adorable little robots can do so much and I know my students will absolutely adore using them for various projects throughout the school year.
I teach second through fifth grade, and we are constantly trying to keep up our coding skills and abilities.
The Botley robot will us to engage with coding while working in cooperative groups to build essential social skills and problem-solving skills that are vital for all students. These may seem like small robots, but they will make a huge difference in the lives of my students. These robots will help us keep our dreams of STEAM alive while also giving us a break for staring at computers to learn how to code.
