My Students

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." - Benjamin Franklin

What makes our students special -- EVERYTHING!

Our students are a wonderful group of Kentucky fifth graders who are just beginning to discover how smart they truly are! Our 5th graders are a fantastic blend of various racial and ethnic backgrounds with the majority of my students falling below the poverty line and classified as at-risk. We have a large percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced price lunch, and yet our school doesn't not receive additional supplemental funding for extra resources.

Everyday, we remind our students how brilliant they are as they work to make meaningful connections to the curriculum. Together, we explore the world and discover how to become positive agents of change!

My Project

Color. Wonder. Beauty. Art. -- when it all comes together, students have the opportunity to symbolize the ideas they hold within. We will use these Scratch Art sets to explore themes and symbolism within literature and to help convey the tones within our own writing and the texts we are connecting to. Please help us SCRATCH the surface of our creativity by helping us fund our Scratch Art project.

Help us bring life to our words and color to our thoughts by allowing us to express the art which reflects from our wonder of our imagination.

Help us transform the stories of our lives into the ART of our lives!
