Developing critical thinking skills should be fun! I work with students in grades 6, 7, 8 both special education and below grade level performing general education students. We work in small groups to develop the skills necessary to enhance their academic achievement.

Over 60% of our school population are TITLE I poverty level and live in NYC Housing Project Communities. My students often have many obstacles placed in their paths to academic achievement but their desire to learn and improve their positions never diminishes.

In order to offer a variety of learning opportunities that will enhance their critical thinking skills and build self -esteem I would like to have clubs for my students to participate in during lunch recess time. In order to get our lunch club program up and running we need 10 Scrabble Games and 10 Chess Sets.

Your help in supplying the games requested will make a smile come to the faces of struggling middle schools students. You will make it possible for them to enjoy playing games that also promote critical thinking and develop skills that will improve their academic performance.
