My recess project is now in the third project phase. The first project phase was for tether balls and soccer goals which was already fully funded! The second phase is a separate project on donorschoose.org and is almost fully funded for the basketball hoop. Now, this project is phase three and includes smaller recess equipment such as jumpropes, cones, sidewalk chalk, footballs, soccer balls and an assortment of different size balls to allow everyone to have an activity of their choice to play.
Our students work hard and having jumpropes, footballs, sidewalk chalk, soccer balls and an assortment of different size balls would be greatly appreciated by the kids.
As you can see from the picture, we do not have playground equipment. The third, fourth and fifth graders have recess in the bus loop. Please help us bring fun, excitement and exercise into our recess time. We can't choose where they have recess, but we can help them enjoy it. They work so hard and deserve it!
My Project
In elementary school, students learn how to work together. Sports and recess activities allow students to work on those skills and learn to take turns, cooperate and play on a team. This helps them improve their social skills as well. I truly feel that each and every student will benefit from the recess projects that your donations are funding. The footballs that are thrown back and forth and the basketballs to play on the basketball hoop, will allow for the students to get a break away from the classroom. Some students will use the sidewalk chalk to draw pictures and show their artistic side, while others use balls to play four square. The activities will soon be available to them, thanks to your much appreciated donations. I cannot wait to see how happy they will be when they see equipment that they can use this year. Please help to make sure our students are happy and healthy, not only this year, but upcoming years as well. Thank you!!
