Help me give my students a non fiction paper digital resource / class magazine set and some TPT resource access for current event learning and nonfiction CLOSE reading activities.
I'm a seasoned teacher with 19 plus years of experience. I have taught all levels from kindergarten up through high school both professionally and personally as a tutor.
I currently teach middle school special education students in a city urban/school in a Title I district.
More than half of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Funds are low and students' needs are high. I teach and assist in classes for 8th grade where we cooperatively study both language arts and social studies concepts.
Every day, my students work hard to meet their personalized goals and I work just as hard to help them, too. As a teacher of students with special needs, I know all students can learn and should be challenged with rigor and relevance in a positive learning environment as much as possible so that they can further develop a community understanding of the world in which they live.
I know that my students would benefit from technology / digital learning resources and supportive hands on resources for connected 21st century learning with your help too.
My Project
Students will have an opportunity to study current events and student based literature to learn about the world they live in.
They can become 21st century learners using print and digital resources at school and at home.
TPT and Scope can provide real world connections during a very difficult educational time.
Students will be able to read and view pictures from a middle school Scholastic Magazine and create personal follow up hands on activities from TPT to show understanding for everyday world issues.
These resources are essential for Special Learners including EL's and LD students because it will help make learning more attainable, comprehensible and interested based.
