My Students

Students in my classes learn so much each year -- it's truly astounding! Usually, after a few months, students will remember how anxious they were to begin in August, and then we can see just how much we'll grow. Students in our community are eager to learn every day when they enter the classroom. How wonderful for a teacher to be treated to bright, shiny faces! No matter what level each child was at when they started, they have all grown, both intellectually as well as socially.

My Project

We've been able to get this magazine in previous years, but haven't been able to secure any copies for a number of years. It would be wonderful if students could use this Scholastic SCOPE Magazine for the various articles and lessons that are provided. This is a great resource; there are links online that are helpful not only to the teacher, but also for the students. The lessons on essay creation, argument writing, and narrative are excellent, and would be a wonderful resource for me to use with students for the second semester this year, and into next year as well.
