This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My 8th grade Language & Literacy students are made up of one 25. I teach my students reading and writing skills in a 90 minute block schedule. This year I would like to use Scope Magazine as an additional piece to my curriculum.

In order to support this process this school year, I am asking for each of my students to be provided a year long subscription to Scope Magazine.

In order to provide my students with these magazine subscriptions, I am asking for your help. I need generous donators to choose this project so my students with have access both online and in magazine from help help them with their reading and writing skills this school year.

My Project

This school year I am hoping to use Scope Magazine as a supplemental material in my Literacy and Language class. My students participate in inquiry based learning as I.B. students. I know that they will love reading these engaging articles provided monthly in Scope Magazine. Students will be able to use the articles to work independently or in small collaborative groups. These articles also provide a great connection to writing and debate, both of which my students participate in actively. I have been using classroom materials from Scholastic for years and both my students and I love using them in our lessons throughout the school year.
