Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a third-year teacher trying to provide my second graders with ample opportunities to learn! Every student in my classroom comes from a home near the poverty level. I want to expose my students to different learning opportunities all within the four walls of my classroom.

I have a diverse group of students and they are all pretty great!

Each and every student shows up and gives his or her best each day, so they deserve the best! This is why I am seeking support from the great donors from DonorsChoose!

My Project

Currently, my students sit in small blue chairs at the small group table. With my class growing, we are running out of room! My students are very close together and bump into each other getting in and out of their seats. By purchasing these wobble chairs, it will eliminate the discomfort they have when learning their phonics skills!

Also, research shows that wobble chairs help increase focus and stamina in students with ADHD.

I currently have many ADHD students on my roster and I know they would greatly appreciate these chairs because they can wiggle and not bump into anyone nearby!
