I teach Elementary Physical Education and many of the Standards of Learning have changed for PE. I like to have new dynamic ideas along with tried and true activities for the students to engage in. This is why I am trying to incorporate new ideas into Physical Education.
I work with the total school population Pre k-5.
We have many students with special circumstance, from learning to physical. We have approximately six hundred and fifty students. Sixty percent of our students are economically disadvantaged and cannot afford many of the opportunities that other children take for granted. I teach elementary (PreK-5) physical education.
My school is a transient school made up of many different social and economic backgrounds. We have a wide variety of ethnic classes as well. We are a Title I school. My students have a hard time being motivated and moving, so my idea is to allow the students to experience activities normally out of reach for them,
My Project
Your donation will help the student's become more interested in Physical Education by allowing them to experience activities they normally would not experience. The scooters along with the scooter hockey stick will allow the students to be engaged in a safe but meaningful activity while achieving the goals in the standards of learning. This will allow for greater excitement among the students.
We have a very diverse and economically challenged school, this will allow students to experience something they normally do not experience.
I try to have the student do things they normally would never get the chance to do. With your help, they will get that chance.
