Scissors for Success!

Help me give my students special scissors that enables us to cut felt that has been donated by a local business. These scissors will enable students with dexterity issues to succeed.

My Students

My students inspire me everyday. My school is a very diverse, and we emphasize acceptance and understanding. We have a well established autistic program that uses integration into general education classrooms to the benefit of all students.

Our students strive to be the best they can be.

They are some of the most deserving students that come in everyday with a smile on their faces. In our school and we foster a community of problems solvers that have a sense of tolerance and caring.

My Project

We have had the good fortune of a giant felt donation from a local business. The felt is quite dense and after much experimentation I was able to find a method of cutting the felt that allows my students to create felt sculptures and products. The scissors are quite expensive for a class set, but will enable us to use an amazing resource that would have normally ended in the trash.

My students will use problem solving to create expressive works of art.

I can't wait to see what they will produce with just a little help. This is a great project with built in success for each student.
