I want my music students to use paper crafts to explore how music looks, feels, and sounds. By using hands on activities that connect sound to sight and texture, students will be able to use their multiple intelligences to learn about music. I teach music to over 500 students in a Pre-K through Grade 5 elementary school in rural North Carolina. We use textbooks, recordings, creative movement, and performance to learn about music. I would like to include more hands on activities. In order to do more paper crafts - and feel successful at it! - we need scissors that are good for little hands as well as big hands. Because I teach such a wide grade level range, I will need a full class set of child scissors (two dozen), and a full set of intermediate scissors. Stands will help keep our music classroom safe and tidy. This resource will benefit approximately 475 students in grades K through 5. Doing paper crafts is a fun, economical way to interact with music. This type of activity reinforces ideas and concepts. My students deserve this experience as a regular part of their musical education.
